mOcean – The Vision
The mOcean is a daysailer designed for lake and coastal navigation. It is reduced to the essentials, sporty, fast and agile.
The yacht architects Seb Schmidt und Damien Cadenoso have implemented the vision (the specifications) of Sailbox and created the mOcean.
Length 7.97 m, width 2.20 m, drought 1.60 m, ballast 420 kgMain 22 m², Gib 14 m², Gennaker 65 m². 7 crews.
mOcean – Safety issues
The issue is crew safety. There are no high end personal flotation device (self inflatable with harness), only dinghy flotation devices or the (cheap) Type 1 PDF mandatory in Switzerland. They do not have an harness.
There are also no padeyes or lifelines to prevent a MOB.
The issue is critical and is actually been discussed among the skippers.
